Kristin Fisher was hired by CNN on 20 July 2021. She is CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent. In her new position she will cover all aspects of space, from NASA and the recently created Space Force, to commercial space firms and the emergence to space tourism. Being the child of 2 NASA astronauts, Kristin has a background in the field of space and has worked for the past five years covering the Trump and Biden Administration's space policies as an White House Correspondent for FOX News. In that period she also covered impeachment trials for the president as well as the 2020 presidential campaign and two administration's efforts to contain the coronavirus pandemic. The former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan for a restricted trip. Before being hired by the channel in the year 2015, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up through the local news channels which included Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won the Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Using her skills in front of the camera Kristin established Field Mouse Films in 2014. The company specialized in making documentary-style films for corporate clients including Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin holds a Bachelor's degree of journalism at Boston University. Kristin is married with a daughter and three-year-old in Washington, D.C.
